The Telugu Association of North America (TANA) organized grand Sankranti celebrations on January 9, 2020, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Over 1,500 attendees enjoyed cultural performances, including classical dances, a fashion show, and musical renditions. Around 200 NRI children recited Telugu poems, highlighting TANA's "Padyarchana" initiative. TANA President Jay Talluri's inspiring speech and participation in the poetry recital captivated the audience.
In New York, this program was formally inaugurated. The initiative of having students recite the verses captivated everyone.
In Exton, Philadelphia, several students participated in the "Mother-Father-Teacher Sataka Padyarchana" program. On this occasion, they recited the verses written by Chigurumalla Srinivas about mothers, fathers, and teachers. Parents of the students also participated in this event.
This program was conducted in the Bay Area, Columbus too.

This initiative aims to bring together Telugu speakers, scholars, and artists from around the world onto a single platform, fostering a unified linguistic and cultural spirit, showcasing the power of literary heritage, and passing this wealth on to future generations. The TANA Literary Division organizes various programs under this platform to achieve these goals.
TANA's Step Forward in Teaching the Telugu Language
The Telugu Association of North America (TANA), under the TANA Mid-Atlantic Division, successfully organized a Cultural Festival on October 19, 2019, at the Perkiomen School in Collegeville, Philadelphia. The event saw the participation of over 2,000 Telugu diaspora members.
The events on October 19 began with a Ganesh prayer. A captivating Bhagavad Gita Avadhanam followed, along with performances by local artists that enthralled the audience. Programs such as drama skits and other cultural acts added to the charm. Approximately 250 artists showcased their talents across 35 diverse events, making the festival a grand success.
TANA has initiated a program to support Pochampally handloom workers by distributing 1,000 Asu machines in the first phase. Under an agreement with the Telangana government, TANA will cover 50% of the costs, with 25% funded by the government and 25% by beneficiaries. This initiative aims to improve the productivity and livelihoods of handloom workers.

The picnic event organized by the TANA Philadelphia team was a grand success, with around 800 people attending. The games and feast arranged during the event captivated everyone. Attendees enthusiastically participated in the games and enjoyed themselves. The Philadelphia TANA team received widespread appreciation for successfully organizing such a delightful event.
