The Telugu Association of North America (TANA) participated in the Dragon Boat Festival Boat Race in Appalachian-Raleigh, marking the first Indian association to take part. With 22 teams and around 7,000 attendees, TANA's "Team Square" showcased commendable spirit, earning appreciation for their participation.
The Telugu Association of North America (TANA), in collaboration with the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), organized the grand Srinivasa Kalyana Mahotsavam at the Bharatiya Temple in Philadelphia. The event was conducted with great splendor by TTD priests and Vedic scholars who came from Tirumala. Overseen by TANA Secretary Ravi Potluri, the program witnessed the participation of numerous NRIs, who received the blessings of Lord Srinivasa.
As part of its cultural initiatives, the Telugu Association of North America (TANA) organized the Mohini-Bhasmasura dance drama at the Sri Venkateswara Temple in Novi, Detroit. Under the guidance of renowned dance artist K.V. Natyanarayana, children from Detroit delivered an impressive performance, captivating the audience. The event was organized with the support of TANA and the Detroit Telugu Association, highlighting the rich cultural traditions and the talent of young performers.
On August 15, 2020, the Telugu Association of North American (TANA) organized the Swatantrya Bharati - Sahitya Harathi program to celebrate India’s 74th Independence Day. This virtual international literary symposium featured 74 Telugu literary scholars from around the world. They presented poetry in various forms, focusing on themes such as India's freedom struggle, national unity, and patriotism.
The Telugu Association of North America (TANA) organized a backpack distribution event under its Backpack Program in the Mid-Atlantic region (Harrisburg). As part of this initiative, school backpacks were distributed to underprivileged children studying in primary schools. This effort aimed to support students in their educational journey and promote access to basic educational resources.
The Telugu Association of North America (TANA) successfully organized a backpack distribution program in Austin. The TANA Austin division leaders donated around 250 school bags to Manor ISD students as part of this initiative.
The Telugu Association of North America (TANA) South East division organized a school backpack distribution program in Mississippi. Around 100 school bags were distributed as part of this initiative, carried out under the guidance of TANA President Jay Talluri. Shashank Yarlagadda sponsored the event, while Venkat Yarlagadda and others managed the distribution.
Under the leadership of the TANA New England Team, school bags were distributed as part of community service programs in the U.S. Around 300 bags were distributed at two DCF Centers in Worcester County, MA. The event saw the participation of Vishwanath Nayunipati, Srikanth, Rao Kandukuri, Sai Prashanth, Ankinidu Ravi, Rama Gudivada, and Rao Yalamanchili. TANA President Jay Talluri expressed his appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of this initiative.
The TANA Houston division organized a backpack distribution program under the leadership of the North America Telugu Association (TANA). Through the Katy Christian Ministries (KCM), school bags were distributed to orphaned children. TANA Houston division leaders actively participated in this initiative.
