TANA organized virtual Sankranti celebrations on January 16, 2021, featuring cultural programs, including students’ festive songs and artistic performances. Padma Shri Shobha Raju’s music captivated the audience. The event, led by TANA President Jay Talluri and others, also included art and rangoli competitions, engaging participants of all ages. Sponsors and contributors were acknowledged for their support in making the celebrations a grand success.
During the COVID-19 lockdown, the TANA Foundation undertook numerous service initiatives to support the poor and vulnerable. These included distributing food, essential supplies, and protective gear like masks to frontline workers such as doctors, medical staff, police, and sanitation workers.
Key Achievements:
Provided essential supplies to over 1 lakh families.
Served food to more than 4 lakh poor individuals and migrant workers.
Distributed over 6 lakh masks to police, sanitation workers, and others.
Extended aid to 15 NGOs, facilitating support in remote and tribal areas across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, including Nellore, Ongole, Guntur, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Warangal, and more.
Under the auspices of the TANA World Literary Forum, a program titled “Literature in Cinema Songs” was organized on December 27, 2020, to commemorate the Centenary of Acharya Aatreya, one of Telugu’s most beloved poets and lyricists. The event was held virtually and turned out to be a grand success, attracting literature and cinema enthusiasts from across the globe.
The program featured prominent personalities from the Telugu film industry. The participating lyricists reminisced about the golden era of Telugu cinema and shared anecdotes about the creative processes behind some of the most iconic songs in the industry. They spoke extensively about the influence of Acharya Aatreya and his ability to weave magic with words, creating lyrics that continue to inspire generations.
Under the auspices of the Telugu Association of North America (TANA) World Literary Forum, the Telugu Padyavaibhava Conference was held as an international virtual meeting on November 29, 2020, and achieved great success.
The event’s chief guest, Maha Sahasravadhani Dr. Garikapati Narasimha Rao, was introduced to the audience by Dr. Prasad Thotakura, the coordinator of the TANA World Literary Forum. Dr. Garikapati spoke passionately about the breadth and depth of Telugu poetry, dispelling the misconception that his speeches focus solely on spirituality. He connected poetry to themes of human values, social responsibility, and interpersonal relationships, addressing pressing concerns such as the erosion of human bonds, the misdirection of youth, and the perils of ignorance and blind beliefs.

TANA remains committed to encouraging children's literature and ensuring the future of the Telugu language through various initiatives.
TANA organized a CPR and AED workshop in Edison, New Jersey, on November 24, where around 50 participants learned emergency treatment techniques for heart attacks and strokes. The session included practical training on using AED devices and a video presentation by the New Jersey TANA team. The workshop received appreciation for promoting health awareness and life-saving skills.

The event featured 24 women lyricists and writers from around the globe, who presented captivating songs filled with their own original literary creations.
Under the auspices of the Telugu Association of North America (TANA) Literary Division and the TANA World Literary Forum, the 125th birth anniversary celebrations of Gurram Jashua were grandly conducted online on September 27, 2020, with a large number of literary enthusiasts participating from various countries.
Inaugurating the Gurram Jashua Jayanti celebrations, he remarked that Gurram Jashua faced untouchability and poverty from a young age and waged a relentless battle against social and economic inequalities. Despite being subjected to humiliation and discrimination, Jashua went on to receive over 1,000 accolades, honors, and awards, including Sahitya Akademi and Padma Bhushan awards.
