The Telugu Association of North America (TANA) World Literary Forum organized a special literary event titled "Mother Tongue - Telugu, Our Breath" on February 21, 2021, coinciding with International Mother Language Day, declared by UNESCO.
Vice President of India, Venkaiah Naidu, participated as the chief guest through an online platform, emphasizing the importance of preserving one's mother tongue. Dr. Thottempudi Sri Ganesh, a professor at SRH University, Germany, spoke on the topic "Germany's Emphasis on Mother Tongue and Efforts in Literary Translation." The program also featured performances by renowned Telugu singers and musicians who showcased the beauty and richness of the Telugu language through songs and instrumental renditions.
TANA Southern California Region organized a successful financial seminar on February 23. Financial expert Srikanth Moparthi provided insights on investments, retirement planning, and education funding. The event, led by TANA VP Suresh Kandeppu, saw around 60 attendees from Orange County.
TANA, in collaboration with the Pyramid Spiritual Societies Movement (PSSM), organized a successful meditation and wisdom session in New Jersey, led by Brahmarshi Patriji. The event highlighted the importance of meditation, with many participants sharing their positive experiences. TANA pledged to support meditation awareness initiatives and thanked Ratna Mulpuri for providing the venue.
TANA's New Jersey team, in collaboration with the New Jersey Telugu Kala Samithi (TIFAS) and Sai Datta Peetham, successfully organized a discourse by the renowned Sahasra Avadhani and scholar Dr. Medasani Mohan. The event, held in Edison, New Jersey, witnessed the enthusiastic participation of prominent individuals and Telugu language enthusiasts.
The Sri Krishna Tatvam discourse program organized by TANA in Melville, New York, featured renowned scholar Dr. Medasani Mohan. His captivating discourse received widespread appreciation. The event began with devotional songs, and TANA President Jay Talluri highlighted Dr. Mohan's accomplishments, including his expertise in Sahasravadhanam and contributions to the TTD Annamacharya Project.
TANA's Mid-Atlantic Division organized the program "Humor and With in Classical Andhra Literature" at Byers Station Clubhouse, Pennsylvania. Renowned scholar Medasani Mohan delivered an engaging discourse on humor in Sanskrit and Telugu literature, which captivated the audience. TANA leaders later honored him for his contributions to literature and culture.
The TANA World Literary Forum conducted its ninth international online meeting on the theme "Stars and Writings" to explore the literary works of renowned personalities like Tanikella Bharani, Dr. Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Dr. P. Bhanumathi, Dr. Kongara Jaggayya, and Dr. Gollapudi Maruti Rao. The program, coordinated by Dr. Prasad Thotakura and Chigurumalla Srinivas, was appreciated for its focus on the literary achievements of celebrated film stars, showcasing their dual excellence in acting and writing. TANA President Jayasekhar Talluri described the event as a distinctive and enriching initiative.
Under the TANA World Literary Forum, a virtual event titled "Avagaveeruda! Sahityabhivandanam" was held on January 17, 2021, to celebrate Sankranti. The program highlighted the invaluable role of farmers and their contributions to society.
TANA President Jay Talluri shared personal farming experiences and emphasized the need to honor farmers for their critical role in sustaining life. Chigurumalla Srinivas presented poetry celebrating farmers' efforts and sacrifices. Dr. Prasad Thotakura stressed the importance of educating youth about rural life and preserving the agricultural heritage. Dr. Kota Janayya detailed TANA's initiatives to support farmers with resources, information, and tools. Padma Shri Dr. Edlapalli Venkateswara Rao discussed his efforts to train farmers in sustainable practices like natural farming and terrace gardening.
