The 75th Independence Day of India was celebrated with great enthusiasm under the leadership of TANA and the New York team. The event was graced by Nassau County Executive Laura Curran, who attended as the chief guest, hoisted the flag, and delivered a speech.
Local political and business leader Ragini Srivatsav also congratulated the TANA New York team for their efforts. Special sports events, such as Tug of War, Throwball, and Ring Games, were organized specifically for women, with trophies awarded to the winners.
The Indian and American national anthems were sung in unison. TANA New York Regional Secretary Dilip Musunuru expressed gratitude to TANA President Anjayya Choudhary Lavu, Vice President Niranjan Shrungavarapu, and others for their support in making the event successful.

Special games like throwball, tug-of-war, and ring games were organized for women, and mementos were presented to the winners of these competitions. The Indian and American national anthems were sung by Shruti. TANA New York Regional Secretary Dilip Musunuru thanked TANA President Anjayya Chowdary Lavu, Vice President Niranjan Sringavarapu, and others for their support.
On August 7, 2021, TANA organized a Backpack Program in Dallas in collaboration with the TANA Foundation, directed by Murali Vennam and Lokesh Naidu. The event was supported by several key figures including Past TANA President Prasad, Srikanth Polavarapu, and Veerapeneni (Past Foundation Trustee), along with leaders from the Yule-Bedford Independent School District in Bedford.
The program aimed to provide backpacks to underprivileged children in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District (HEB ISD), with more than 100 backpacks distributed. The distribution was coordinated by Satish Kommana, with additional support from regional coordinators and members.
The event was held in memory of the late Dr. Gorrepati Navaneet Krishna (Past TANA President) and TANA Board members such as Raja Nalluri and leaders from DFW also participated in the event.
On August 14, 2021, the TANA DFW team organized a Backpack Donation Program in collaboration with the Fort Worth Independent School District (TX). Over 400 backpacks were distributed to underprivileged children in the district.
The event was held in memory of the late Dr. Gorrepati Navaneet Krishna (former TANA President). To date, the TANA DFW team has distributed over 500 backpacks to schools in the Dallas area.
The program was coordinated by TANA Regional Coordinator Satish Kommana, TANA Board Member Murali Vennam, Counselor Lokesh Yudu, and Lenin Talluri, among others.
Fort Worth Mayor Marty Parker attended the event and praised TANA's efforts in serving the community.
The event also focused on encouraging reading habits among children, with a special emphasis on books and authors. Bandla Madhava Rao, acting as a judge, selected books aimed at cultivating children’s interest in reading.

Under the auspices of TANA, the first-ever basketball tournament was successfully organized in the Appalachian region, with enthusiastic participation from high school students. The event saw teams competing for the first and second place, with trophies and cash prizes sponsored by TANA Raleigh.
Additionally, consolation cash prizes were awarded to all the remaining teams through TANA Charlotte Leadership.
The event was attended by several key figures, including TANA Sports Coordinator Shashank Yarlagadda, Purushottam Choudhary, Srinivas Chand Gorrepati, Nagamallaeshwar Panchumarthi, Sridhar Goranti, and others, who congratulated the participants. Special thanks were given to Rajesh Yarlagadda and Sanitha Kakarl for their key role in organizing the tournament.
Under the TANA (Telugu Association of North America) initiative, a book distribution event was held in the Austin area for students learning the Telugu language in their second year of study. The event was successfully organized by TANA Joint Secretary Murali Taalari and was presided over by TANA President Anjayya Choudhary Lavu.
Former TANA Presidents such as Srinivas Rao Ervanti and Ramu Talluri participated through video calls to convey their best wishes to the children, teachers, and parents. Other notable attendees included Anupama Cherukuri, Vardhika Kanthana, Sushmitha Baddha, and Seetha Mahalakshmi, with Nagraju Nalajula (School Chairman), Rajani Maram, and Ramu Maram contributing from Dallas to Austin.
The event celebrated the learning of the Telugu language by the children and fostered community participation from various stakeholders.
The first anniversary celebration of the Telugu language school under the auspices of TANA (Telugu Association of North America) for Telugu children in the USA took place online on July 17. The event was attended by the school's teachers, coordinators, and TANA executive members.
TANA President Anjayya Choudhary appreciated the volunteer teachers for their dedication to teaching Telugu, emphasizing the importance of the language. School Chairman Nagaraju Nalajula expressed the strong resolve to continue teaching Telugu to the children of the diaspora, alongside teachers like Sunil Koganti, Hanumanth Rao, Pradeep Gaddam, and Vamsi.
Prasad Mangin, a member of the school, praised the teachers and mentioned that their work was supported by individuals like Vasireddy, Dilip Musunuru, Srinivas Gogineni, and Sai.
Additionally, the event also recognized contributions from people like Bollineni, Ram Thota, Ravichandra, Ratnaprasad Gummadi and others, who helped in organizing the school's summer camp for the children. Many diaspora children participated in the event, and TANA office-bearers, including Krishna Nandamuri, Phani Kanteti, Sai Jargul, Vikrant, and several others, attended.
The celebration highlighted the collective efforts of the community to promote and preserve the Telugu language and culture among younger generations.
