As a gesture of gratitude towards medical staff risking their lives to treat COVID-19 patients, TANA organized the distribution of lunch boxes to the staff of Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. TANA Philadelphia leader Suresh Yalamanchi highlighted the initiative, which was carried out with the support of TANA Secretary Ravi Potluri and Regional Vice President Satish Chundru. Medical staff expressed their thanks to TANA for the thoughtful gesture, while Ravi Potluri praised the Philadelphia team for their efforts in organizing such meaningful programs.
On the occasion of Environment Day, the Telugu Association of North America (TANA) organized TANA International Environment Day celebrations from June 5 to June 8, 2020, spanning three days. The event featured captivating speeches and messages from eminent personalities. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, TANA conducted the program online.
The closing ceremony took place on June 8, 2020. Approximately 6,248 people registered for the event, and several individuals participated in the ompetitions conducted across 154 Zoom slots.
Around 250 individuals served as judges for the competitions. The program, which featured prominent figures from both America and India, captured everyone's attention.
During the event, Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, in her welcome address, emphasized that the responsibility of protecting nature lies with everyone. She praised the initiative taken by the Telugu Association of North America (TANA) in this regard. She also quoted Rabindranath Tagore's words on loving nature and stressed the need for humans to take responsibility for preserving it.
TANA Foundation, led by Mid-Atlantic Vice President Satish Chundru, distributed masks to police in collaboration with GUDA Chairman Ganni Krishna and other leaders. Masks were handed to Traffic DSP S. Venkat Rao and Central Zone DSP Santosh Kumar, with support from TANA leaders Jay Talluri, Niranjan Sringavarapu, and others. The police thanked TANA for their efforts.
The North America Telugu Association (TANA) conducted several community support activities in Cleveland, Ohio, during the COVID-19 pandemic. According to TANA leader Ashok Babu Kolla, they organized events in about 23 regions, providing meals to police, firefighters, and USPS staff as a gesture of appreciation for their frontline services. Generous donors and the Cleveland Contributors Group supported the initiatives, donating to Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank and Second Harvest Food Bank, supplying 42,000 food packets. Assistance was also extended to students facing challenges due to COVID 19.
Women from Kappatralla village in Kurnool district produced masks, food baskets, and hygiene kits during the COVID-19 pandemic, following government guidelines. Supported by TANA, which adopted the village, their efforts aided community welfare and family income. TANA Secretary Ravi Potluri played a key role in the village's development.
The Telugu Association of North America (TANA) extended its support to school children by donating $3000. This contribution aims to aid students in need, ensuring their access to educational resources. TANA's consistent commitment to community welfare is reflected in this initiative, emphasizing its dedication to supporting education and young learners.
The Telugu Association of North America (TANA) organized a webinar titled "Maatamanti with Bharatiyam Satyavani" to support the NRI Telugu community during the COVID-19 pandemic. Satyavani shared motivational insights on teamwork and discipline. TANA leaders, including President Jay Talluri and other key members, coordinated the event to encourage resilience and community spirit.
The North America Telugu Association (TANA), led by President Jay Talluri, distributed PPE kits to Long Island Community Hospital to support medical staff treating COVID-19 patients. TANA acknowledged the efforts of frontline workers and extended similar programs across various cities. Contributors included Sirisha Thunuguntla, Chris Gandham, and Harishankar Rajput. Hospital staff expressed gratitude for the support.
TANA and TANA Foundation distributed 1,000 masks and essential supplies worth ₹1 lakh in Bhadrayya Nagar, Krishna district. Coordinated by TANA leaders and distributed by MLA Gadde Ramamohan, 400 masks went to healthcare workers, 300 to police, and 300 to sanitation staff.
