As part of TANA's appreciation initiatives for frontline staff serving COVID-19 patients, a lunch was organized for the staff of Main Line Health Center in Exton, Philadelphia. The event, held on May 21, was coordinated by the TANA Mid-Atlantic Team. Several TANA leaders, including Nagaraju Nalajula, Balu Kari, Phanikanteti, and Koti Yaganti, contributed to making the program a success.
As part of this initiative, TANA Atlanta leaders provided lunch to the staff of Johns Creek Fire Station 61, appreciating their dedication and efforts in protecting the community during the pandemic. The team recognized and commended the services of the fire station staff who have been at the forefront of COVID-19 safety efforts.
Under the auspices of TANA, the Mother's Day 2020 Virtual Competitions were successfully conducted on May 16 and 17, 2020, online. The event was organized in collaboration with Jignasa, Jayaho Bharateeyam, and the AVNRTS Foundation.
These virtual global competitions conducted under TANA's guidance stood out as a unique and innovative experiment for 2020.
Approximately 1,850 people participated in various categories via Zoom video conferencing. The event was conducted over a span of 128 hours with the involvement of 100 judges. This large-scale program, successfully conducted online, earned a place in the Indian Book of Records with the Indian World Record Title, as well as in the Telugu Book of Records, leaving its mark in history.
The Mother's Day program created unforgettable and sweet memories for participants from various fields, including prominent individuals, adults, women, and children.
On May 16, TANA Northwest Region volunteers provided meals to homeless individuals at the Salvation Army. Neelima and Shiva Pendurthi sponsored the event, with Regional Coordinator Dev Lavu and Rajendra Pendurthi contributing to its success. Additionally, on May 28, pizza meals were distributed to the needy as part of a birthday gesture by Kalairasi and Bala Kopparthi for their son, facilitated by TANA.
The TANA Charlotte Team provided essential items and food supplies to UNC Charlotte students facing hardships due to COVID-19. The students thanked TANA for their timely assistance. This initiative was supported by TANA leaders Jay Talluri, Anjaiah Chowdary Lavu, Satish Vemana, and others, with local coordination by Pattabhi Kanthamaneni, Naga Panchumarthi, and team.
Ravi Mandalapu, TANA Foundation Secretary, led COVID-19 relief activities in Kothagudem, distributing essential supplies to 2,000 needy families. Collaborating with Mandalapu Trust, TANA, and KANA Foundation, he provided aid to sanitation workers, disabled individuals, artists, and hospital staff. BJP District President Koneru Satyanarayana commended his impactful efforts.
Under the leadership of TANA Foundation, Spurthi Trust, and Bhakta Balla's team, essential supplies such as rice, vegetables, and spices were distributed to 130 underprivileged families in M. Gummadam, Tammarayudupeta, and Puritipenta villages of Vizianagaram district.
Relief activities were carried out in Vizianagaram for over 20 days to support the needy during the COVID 19 crisis. Through Spurthi Trust, food packets and fruits were distributed to patient attendants at Maharaja Hospital, benefiting 75 families. Several volunteers participated in the initiative.
In the state of Georgia, the TANA Atlanta team organized a dinner to appreciate the services provided by the staff of the prominent Wellstar Hospital to COVID-19 patients.
TANA leaders hosted the dinner for doctors and medical staff, recognizing their dedication and efforts during these challenging times. The team also lauded the frontline workers for their invaluable contributions in battling the pandemic.
Suresh Mittapalli's COVID-19 Relief Efforts
Suresh Mittapalli, a TANA member from Jacksonville, actively supported COVID-19 relief activities organized by TANA and the TANA Foundation. He contributed to helping underprivileged communities in both the U.S. and Telugu states. In Jacksonville, Florida, he coordinated lunch and dinner programs to appreciate frontline workers for their dedication during the pandemic.
