he TANA College Exams were successfully conducted for students affiliated with Sri Padmavathi Women's University in Tirupati. Students from various states such as Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, New Jersey, Michigan, Massachusetts, Omaha, Pennsylvania, and more attended the exams.
These exams were part of courses in Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, and Carnatic Music, which are offered by the college and have gained significant recognition across the United States. The students’ participation reflects the growing admiration for these cultural courses, which play a vital role in preserving Indian traditions and heritage.
TANA in collaboration with the Grace Foundation, successfully organized a 5K Walk in Mansfield Town, near Boston. This event was part of TANA’s ongoing initiatives with Global Grace Health. Runners and walkers came together to participate enthusiastically, wearing specially designed T-shirts and caps provided by the two organizations.
The walk brought together fitness enthusiasts, families, and generous supporters for a noble cause. Following the walk and a light breakfast, TANA representatives highlighted their various initiatives aimed at benefiting the community. They shared details about programs focusing on education, health, and cultural awareness, emphasizing TANA's commitment to creating a positive social impact.
The TANA Mid-Atlantic successfully organized a Chess Tournament in Philadelphia. The event saw enthusiastic participation from many players, with both children and parents actively involved. Parents were excited to bring their children to take part in the competition, and the children's impressive skills captivated everyone.
TANA stood in support of the flood-affected victims in the Telugu states, where the devastating floods led to the loss of lives, displacement of families, and destruction of crops. Responding to the human tragedy with compassion, TANA provided essential ration kits to the affected areas. In addition to support within the Telugu states, TANA also raised funds from donors in North America to help the victims in various ways.

The TANA Mid-Atlantic Women's Division organized a spectacular Ladies' Night celebration on September 14, 2024, which saw over 400 women in attendance. The event was graced by celebrity anchor and actress Suma as the chief guest, who set an energetic tone for the evening. Special guest Mirchi Bhargavi also captivated the audience with her charming hosting skills.
The guests enjoyed a fun-filled four-hour event, featuring games, a delicious feast, and beautiful music, creating an unforgettable experience.
In response to the flood victims in Vijayawada, under the guidance of Minister Kolusu Parthasarathi, TANA Foundation Chairman Shashikanth Valepalli, Secretary Raj Kasukurthi, and members Gogineni Karthik arranged 1,000 blankets and 1,000 towels. Additionally, Sunkollu Village contributed 100 rice bags to aid the affected people. These relief items were transported to Vijayawada and distributed by Minister Parthasarathi and MLA Gadde Rammohan in the Krishna Lanka area.
The North American Telugu Association (TANA), in collaboration with Akshaya Patra, jointly distributed essential relief items to the flood victims. Each family received a package containing:
5 kilograms of rice
1 kilogram of toor dal
1 oil packet
Salt
1/2 kilogram of puthnala pappu (split chickpeas)
1/2 kilogram of groundnuts
100 grams of sambar powder
100 grams of turmeric and chili powder A traditional kanduva (blanket)
These essential items were carefully packed and delivered to provide immediate aid to those in need.
Under the leadership of TANA Foundation Chairman Shashikanth Valepalli distributed bicycles to girls as part of the Adarana Scheme at Shanti Nagar High School. The event was attended by the school's principal, Sri Down Basco, and the program was organized in memory of Sunitha Katragedda by Prashanth Katragedda who acted as the donor.
Under the leadership of TANA Mid-Atlantic, a grand Picnic (Vana Bhojanalu) event was held at Philadelphia, with over 2,000 Telugu participants from areas like Delaware, Harrisburg, Allentown, and Pittsburgh attending. The event was filled with food and fun as everyone enjoyed the gathering together. Key participants like TANA Mid-Atlantic Regional Representative Venkat Singu, Board of Directors Ravi Potluri, Satish Tumma, and Sunil Koganti contributed to the success of the event.
