On the occasion of TANA Services Day, a service program was conducted on December 26 at RCM School in Pedda Avutapalli village. The activities included cancer screening tests, free eye examinations, orthopedic check-ups, and ENT (ear, nose, and throat) tests. Residents from 27 villages in Unguturu Mandal, including Gannavaram, Vadlamanu, Allapuram, and Marlapalem, also benefited from these medical camps.
On behalf of the North America Telugu Association (TANA) and the TANA Foundation, the Chaitanya Sravanthi program conducted by TANA Vidya Coordinator R. Malineni in Penamaluru was successfully completed. This program, held at the Zilla Parishad (ZP) High School, was attended by several prominent personalities, including local dignitaries and representatives from the TANA Andhra Pradesh Area.
As part of this initiative, scholarships worth approximately one lakh rupees were distributed to underprivileged students to support their education.
TANA and TANA Foundation are focusing special attention on providing necessary medical and educational services to the underprivileged, said TANA President Anjayya Chowdary Rava. Recently, as part of the Chaitanya Sravanthi programs, free cancer screening tests and eye camps were conducted near Kukatla on the Singarakonda road. These programs, held in collaboration with TANA Foundation and Rotary, provided free medical tests from 9 AM to 5 PM.
As part of the TANA Chaitanya Sravanti initiative, a significant event was held in Attota, located in the Kollipara Mandal of Guntur district, on the occasion of National Farmer's Day. In collaboration with the TANA team, the Bhumi Bharti Seed Center was inaugurated.
Before the inauguration, the TANA team, along with TANA President Anjayya Choudhary, was warmly welcomed by the local villagers with melathals (musical instruments), poorna kumbham (traditional water-filled pot), and floral garlands. The villagers expressed their gratitude and respect for the team's visit.
At the seed center, various types of seeds for eco friendly and organic farming were displayed. The president and team members actively engaged with the center, discussing the benefits of promoting sustainable agriculture.
During his speech, TANA President Anjayya Choudhary emphasized the importance of nature based farming and the shared responsibility of everyone to promote eco-friendly agricultural practices. He highlighted the significance of health over wealth in the current times and the need to adopt chemical-free farming methods. He also mentioned that efforts would be made to ensure that farmers can access international markets, especially in America, for their organic produce.
In a heartfelt note, he shared how the contributions of TANA Chaitanya Sravanti in helping the farmers of their home village felt like repaying the debts of their motherland. He acknowledged the struggle of their parents and expressed his commitment to supporting the farming community. This collaboration, he stated, would remain a milestone in their efforts towards sustainable agriculture and farmer welfare.
As part of the TANA Chaitanya Sravanthi programs, a Bhumi Bharati Seed Center was recently inaugurated in Athota, under Kollipara Mandal of Guntur District, on the occasion of National Farmers’ Day, in collaboration with TANA. Earlier, TANA team members and President Anjayya Chowdary were warmly welcomed to the village by the locals with musical bands, a ceremonial reception, and garlands.
Under the auspices of the North America Telugu Association (TANA) and the TANA Foundation, as part of the Chaitanya Sravanthi celebrations, TANA programs organized in Gokarajupalli of Veerulapadu Mandal, Krishna District, under the supervision of TANA Appalachian Region Coordinator R. Panchumarthi, were successfully conducted.
Scholarships worth lakhs of rupees were distributed, bicycles were given to divyangs (differently-abled individuals), sewing machines to women, and bicycles to students. Free medical camps were conducted, providing tests and medicines to those in need.
As part of its ongoing commitment to serve the farming community, the TANA Foundation organized a significant event that included the distribution of agricultural machinery and a free eye medical camp for farmers. This initiative aimed at enhancing the productivity of farmers by providing them with modern equipment and addressing their healthcare needs, particularly in terms of vision.
The event was held with the active participation of local leaders, and the machinery distribution helped empower farmers with the tools they need to improve their farming practices. Additionally, the free eye medical camp catered to farmers and their families, offering eye check-ups and treatment, ensuring their well-being.
This program was a crucial part of the TANA Foundation's efforts to provide comprehensive support to rural communities, combining healthcare with agricultural development to create a more sustainable future for farmers.
As part of the TANA Chaitanya Sravanthi initiative, a grand Telangana Cultural Festival was held in Khammam on December 18 under the leadership of Battina Prakash. The event featured over 250 artists, who performed for four hours, captivating the audience with their vibrant cultural performances.
Earlier in the day, a mega medical camp was organized under the guidance of Sch. R. Mandalapu Ravi, a prominent expatriate from Khammam. The medical camp provided essential health services to the community.
The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar, and TANA President Lavu Anjayya Chowdary. Their presence added to the significance of the event, which combined both health services and cultural celebrations, making it a memorable occasion for the people of Khammam.
On December 16, at the Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad, the Telugu Association of North America (TANA) hosted a special event, "TANA Kalārādhana," to honor renowned singer P. Suseela for her immense contribution to Telugu music. The event was graced by various prominent personalities, with M. Venkaiah Naidu, the former Vice President of India, as the chief guest.
During his speech, Venkaiah Naidu praised the TANA Foundation for its widespread impact and efforts to repay the cultural debt to the motherland, despite its global presence. He emphasized the importance of never forgetting the motherland, mother tongue, and teachers, urging the Telugu community to honor their roots. He also highlighted that the Telugu language is flourishing not just in the Telugu states but also in the United States, where the diaspora is actively involved in promoting its growth.
The event was a grand success, attended by luminaries from various fields, including film actors Krishna Veni, Tulu Kota Srinivasa Rao, Muralimohan, Giribabu, singer Suseela, writer Paruchuri Gopalakrishna, director Kodandaramireddy, singer Sunitha, and former MP Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad.
This event recognized and celebrated the immense contribution of P. Suseela to the Telugu music industry, making it a memorable and culturally enriching experience for all attendees.
