  • KC Chekuri is presently serving as the Chairman of TANA Telugu Language Promotion Committee since 2011.
  • Born into an agricultural family at a small village in Guntur District, KC was educated at REC Warangal and The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. He holds a Masters Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. 
  • Prior to moving to USA in 2001 KC has worked as an Aerodrome Officer and as a Probationary Officer in SBI in India and later worked as a Management Consultant in PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) and Deloitte & Touche in USA.
  • Presently, he is heading the Business Practice Development wing at TechMagix, an IT consulting firm in Dallas. He lives in Dallas with his wife Veena Nadella and son Vikrant Ramayya.
  • KC is well-known in the NRI Telugu community as an active volunteer and vibrant contributor in the fields of Telugu language, literature, cultural heritage and social service. He also runs a Telugu FM Radio Talk show embedded with Telugu literature, culture, music, songs and social issues and also promotes TANA activities and events in his talk show.  He is a member of TANA since 2002 and life member since 2006.

Milestones & Contributions

  • Recipient of “Award of Excellence” from the Government of Andhra Pradesh for the contribution towards Telugu Language, Literature, culture and Social service, in 2012.
  • Raised $40000 funds towards the TANA initiated Telugu course at University of Texas Austin by organizing the concerts of Dr Balamuralikrishna in 2011 and SP Balu & Chitra in 2012.
  • Founder and first convener of “Telugu Sahitya Vedika”  and “nela nelaa Telugu Vennela” Program in Dallas
  • First Chief Editor of “Telugu Velugu” , a quarterly magazine of Telugu Association of North Texas (TANTEX)
  • Board of Trustee – Denton County India Cultural Association
  • TANA 18th Conference at SFO – Member in Literary and Marketing Committees
  • TANA Backpack Program – Active Volunteer & Donor
  • TANA Teamsquare - Active Volunteer & Donor

  • Founder Director – Kalavahini and Kakatiya Foundation in Dallas
  • Organized and participated as a “pRucChaka” in the “avadhanaM” programs of Medasani Mohan, Garikapati Narasimha Rao, Rallabandi kavita Prasad, Narala Ramareddy and Vaddiparti Prabhakar in Dallas.
  • Designed and hosted 320 plus culturally rich radio talk shows in Telugu in local Dallas radio for nearly 700 hours

Goals and definitive action plan

  • To raise funds to establish a permanent “Telugu peethaM” (Telugu Chair) at University of Texas at Austin
  • To work with the leadership in designing and establishing  TANA Telugu Academy to offer  online certification courses and learning programs in Telugu with due accreditation
  • To extend TANA Backpack program for underprivileged kids to Houston, Austin and Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana states.
  • To increase awareness, raise funds and strengthen TANA Foundation activities in Southwest region
  • To strengthen TANA TeamSquare activities in Southwest region with funds and volunteers
  • Conduct workshops on PIO Card and OCA Card by closely working with the Indian Consulate at Houston.
  • Conduct seminars on Immigration issues
  • Induct youth into TANA by organizing sports events and job fairs across the Southwest region.
  • Encourage women participation in TANA activities by organizing women-specific events and seminars.
  •  Organize seminars and workshops on College Education preparatory courses like SAT, ACT for kids born here.
  • To conduct more Telugu  literary programs and cultural activities in the region
  • Work in harmony and organize collaborative programs with other national Telugu organization like ATA and NATA and local Telugu organizations in each city in Southwest region.
  • Increase TANA life membership rolls in the region from the present 1350 to 2500 in 2 years.
