TANA Regional Conference (Mid-Atlantic) October 13th & 14th – North Penn High School, Lansdale, PA
Telugu Association of North America (or TANA, as it is well known) is one of the oldest and THE largest Indo-American organizations in North America. TANA organizes several cultural & community events to preserve promote and propagate the Telugu language and culture across North America & India for the past 40 years. TANA’s goal is to bring our Telugu community together to keep our culture and language alive, through cultural and community activities.
Celebrating 40 years of Telugu Association of North America (TANA) 1977-2017.
2017 is the year to celebrate our proud organization’s 40th anniversary. We would like to express our gratitude to the members, donors, community leaders and members of the leadership and volunteers for their support and leadership over these 40 years.
We are planning to celebrate 40th anniversary in various cities by organizing Regional Conferences across North America. As part of this, our first Regional Conference will be held on Friday, October 13th and Saturday, October 14th at North Penn High School, Lansdale, PA. As part of the celebrations we are planning to organize various Cultural (Dance & Drama) programs. Top Telugu film celebrities will be attending as chief guests, Sangeeta Saraswathi and Melody Queen of Indian Cinema - Chithra garu will be attending and performing as part of the Conference on October 14th. We promise that, this will be a unique cultural gathering of Telugu families and will highlight the Telugu Pride, Cultural Heritage, Youth Dynamism, Business Opportunities, Community forums etc. The full details of the program will be announced soon. We are requesting community members to take active part in the celebrations by volunteering in any of the event organizing committees which are vacant. Success of these celebrations will be crucial in leveraging the strength of TANA to make our NRI Telugu community voice heard in the mainstream.
Some of highlights of Regional Conference that are being planned are:
· Photo and arts exhibition depicting Telugu culture, heritage, and history are being planned.
· A special Banquet function on Friday, October 13th evening with over 400 dignitaries, invitees and sponsors will be a major highlight of the Conference.
· A live telecast of the entire celebrations by prominent Indian TV Channels.
· An array of cultural, literary programs and live performances by movie stars and musicians will entertain the audience and invitees.
· The guest speaker list includes several key political influencers, decision makers, Entrepreneurs.
· Keeping our youth in mind, programs like photography, painting, literary, dance, music and sports competitions will be held.
We are very committed and take special pride to make this Regional Conference extremely successful. Any event’s success depends on the support from the participating community. The previous TANA events in the area are very successful because of the support given by our community for which we thank you and seek your continued support. For the grand success of the celebrations, we are counting on generous support from you.
