It gives me great pleasure to share with you that the preparations for the 21st TANA Conference at the America's Center in St. Louis got off to a grand start with more than $750,000 raised at the very successful kickoff meeting and fundraising dinner on Saturday, November 5. About 50 TANA leaders from across the country including the President, Dr. Chowdary Jampala, along with 350 leaders from the St. Louis Telugu community attended the event held at the Marriott Grand St. Louis. The Conference will be held during the Memorial Day weekend (May 26-28, 2017) to coincide with the 40th birthday of TANA.
TANA South Central Regional Representative, Raja Surapaneni, welcomed the audience. Dr. Kurmanath Chadalawada, Convener for the 21st Conference informed the audience about the plans for the upcoming conference and thanked the conference team for their enthusiasm and commitment. Venkateswara Rao Mandava, the Chairperson for the Conference Finance Committee and Rao Vallabhaneni, the Chairperson of the Corporate Sponsorship Committee, briefed the group about the successful fundraising efforts and introduced their teams.
Dr. Subbarao Uppuluri, Chairman of the TANA Board of Directors and Mrs. Saraswati Uppuluri, inaugurated the Conference Logo to the approval and applause of the attendees. The logo celebrating the 40th anniversary of TANA, prominently depicted the Conference theme, Telugu - Boundless and Forever Glorious, featured a Bapu painting. The logo was much appreciated for its classical Telugu theme by those in attendance.
TANA Executive Vice-President, Satish Vemana, then kicked the fundraising to a higher gear while keeping the audience engaged and entertained. A total of $750,000 was pledged to the Conference, the second highest amount ever raised at a TANA Fundraising event.
Tollywood singers Anudeep and Chaitra Ambadipudi with their spirited singing entertained the audience as they were treated to a sumptuous dinner. Srinivasa Gogineni, Chairman of TANA Foundation, Jayasekhar Talluri, Dr. Prasad Nalluri, Ravi Potluri, Anjaiah Chowdary Lavu, Rajani Akurati, Gowtham Gurram, and many other officers of TANA attended the event. Earlier in the day, the Team toured America's Center, the venue for the upcoming convention and were quite impressed by the available facilities.
I offer my profound thanks to Dr. Chadalawada and the St. Louis Conference Team for their hard work and success in fundraising and I thank all the donors for their generosity. I am confident that with such a hardworking team, the St. Louis Conference would be the most audience centered and the best TANA Conference ever.
Yours in Service,
