It has literally moved the world for over the last 100 years. Now it is a metropolis experiencing a renaissance in the downtown area. Detroit is home to the upcoming All Star baseball game, the 2006 Super Bowl, and of course, the World Champion Pistons. It is a perfect backdrop for this year’s TANA convention where our rich Indian heritage meets present day.   There are a variety of exciting activities for all age groups but the Young Adult committee has been working diligently to make this convention unforgettable, especially for the 25+ crowd! Cruise Location – Lake Erie, 18-24, 25 +, be prepared to show ID Cruise along the Detroit River between Detroit and Windsor, Ontario for a spectacular view between two countries and their downtown skylines. Enjoy the weather, mingle, and dance the night away with your fellow Telugu comrades. Cash bar and DJ. There will be two separate boats, one for 18-24 and one for 25+. Saturday July 2nd Shall We Dance? Location – Cobo Hall, - All Ages Clueless when it comes to dances such as Bhangra or Salsa!? Don’t worry, our dance coaches will show you the right moves! Not Your average Seminars Suffer from de ja vou with certain topics? Want your voice heard? This is the place for you! Round table discussions and group forums give attendees a chance to get in on the action. . . or just sit back and listen. Participate in a basketball tournament where money will be donated to a charity under the winner’s name. You may have moves on the dance floor, but do you have moves on the court? The Do’s and don’ts of Desi Dashion Location – Cobo Hall/Arena, All Ages Do you ever wonder what’s in and what's out when it comes to Desi wear? We have just the solution. . . young designer Durga Sundaram (working for Ralph Lauren in NYC) and panel will show you how to look chic when it comes to ethnic wear. Oh, and we promise, no Sari tying contest! Intersted in modeling for us? TANA Young Adult Banquet w/Bachelor and Bachelorette Auction Location – Cobo Hall 18+ Age We bet you’ve never tasted the world quite like this. Experience a taste of Detroit with everything from Soul food to Greek food at our semi-formal dinner. Cash bar available. If you’re one of the lucky ones to grab a bachelor or a bachelorette at the auction, dance the night away with them after dinner. If not, don’t worry. Your night hasn’t ended yet. . . continue the night at another one of Detroit’s hottest spot. . . CLUB NIGHT 18-24, 25+, club open to TANA attendees only We picked another hot spot for you to enjoy a night out while one of the hottest DJs from the east coast rocks the house. Again, we will have a separate VIP floor for 25+.   Dining at the Convention   In an effort to provide an environment that offers ease and comfort for interacting with your peers, 18 and above will have a separate dining area for lunch and dinner on both Saturday and Sunday.
