Publication of “Telugu Paluku” as a conference souvenir is a tradition that will be continued for the 15th TANA Conference in Detroit. The Souvenir and Literary Committee has received good quality original writings in Telugu (stories, poetry, essays, cartoons, etc.) from all over North America and the selection process is now complete. These and other writings of prominent authors in Andhra Pradesh are being readied for printing.

Telugu Vocabulary Contest: To encourage the knowledge and understanding of Telugu among the second generation, Sri Srinivas Koneru and Sri Bandla Hanumaiah of the TANA Executive Committee started this contest in Detroit two years ago. Since then this contest was conducted in other cities across the US and has become a very successful program. We plan to conduct this highly popular contest at the national level during the TANA conference. There are four divisions in the competition based on age and exposure to Telugu: 3-4, 5-10, and 11-17 years of age and 10-17 years old children who immigrated within the last 3 years from Andhra Pradesh. Contest involves the translation of Telugu words into English and vice versa.
